It's EPSO week in Tennessee! EPSO stands for Early Post-Secondary Opportunities, and LA offers a wide selection of them. Check out the attached infographic for the many forms EPSO classes can take.
Livingston Academy thanks all veterans for their service. This past Wednesday through Friday, the AP US History classes featured guest speak detailing their experiences in the military. Students heard memories from the Vietnam War, Operation Just Cause, the Battle of Mogadishu, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, the Kosovo conflict, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Atlantic Resolve, National Guard missions at home, and other foreign deployments. We thank Col. Mitchell and Sgt. Padgett for coming on Wednesday. We thank Col. Reed and Col. Godfrey for sharing with the classes on Thursday. On Friday, we had Maj. Shannon speak to the classes with guests Sgt. Cross, Sgt. Slayton, Sgt. Ledbetter, SFC Burchfield, and 1SG Melton. We appreciate these gentlemen for their service and for taking time out of their day to speak to our students.
This is a reminder that Livingston Academy will be closed on Monday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day.
The November 12, 2024 school board meeting has been rescheduled to November 4, 2024. The meeting will begin at the normal time of 6:30 with the work session following the meeting.
With over 140 people in attendance, LA's Beta Club held its annual induction ceremony on October 28th. New members were sworn in and returning members were celebrated following remarks from elected officers and sponsor Heidi Adams.
Family and friends of Livingston Academy Beta Club members are invited to attend Monday's induction ceremony at 6:00 PM. New members will be formally inducted in accordance with Beta tradition and returning members will be recognized.

With the guidance of UTE agent Christina Swallows and TNCEP Program Assistant Rebecca Smith, we’ll be exploring the art of teen cuisine—starting with delicious and healthy fruit smoothies! An easy way to sneak in our daily serving of fruits in a refreshing treat! 🫐🍍

Livingston Academy freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will have the opportunity to participate in yearbook picture retakes on Tuesday, October 22nd. This is for any student in these grades that was either absent during the initial session, transferred into LA since then, or would simply prefer to have their portrait redone. The retake session will take place over first and second block that day.

Exciting news from the first Special Olympics event of the 2024-2025 school year held in White County! A huge thank you to White County High School for their warm welcome to Livingston Academy. Coach Miller, Coach Qualls, and our dedicated Life Skills teachers and assistants cheered on our teams as they showcased their abilities in flag football, cornhole, and more. We are especially proud of our eleven Wildcats who represented us with pride, alongside our amazing peer buddies who supported them every step of the way. A special shoutout goes to our SROs for the escort out of town. Looking ahead, we can’t wait for the bowling event in November! Go Wildcats!
