Livingston Academy thanks all veterans for their service. This past Wednesday through Friday, the AP US History classes featured guest speak detailing their experiences in the military. Students heard memories from the Vietnam War, Operation Just Cause, the Battle of Mogadishu, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, the Kosovo conflict, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Atlantic Resolve, National Guard missions at home, and other foreign deployments. We thank Col. Mitchell and Sgt. Padgett for coming on Wednesday. We thank Col. Reed and Col. Godfrey for sharing with the classes on Thursday. On Friday, we had Maj. Shannon speak to the classes with guests Sgt. Cross, Sgt. Slayton, Sgt. Ledbetter, SFC Burchfield, and 1SG Melton. We appreciate these gentlemen for their service and for taking time out of their day to speak to our students.

Exciting news from the first Special Olympics event of the 2024-2025 school year held in White County! A huge thank you to White County High School for their warm welcome to Livingston Academy. Coach Miller, Coach Qualls, and our dedicated Life Skills teachers and assistants cheered on our teams as they showcased their abilities in flag football, cornhole, and more. We are especially proud of our eleven Wildcats who represented us with pride, alongside our amazing peer buddies who supported them every step of the way. A special shoutout goes to our SROs for the escort out of town. Looking ahead, we can’t wait for the bowling event in November! Go Wildcats!
