Thank you to everyone that made today's field trip to Tennessee Tech happen! LA seniors had a fantastic time learning about the education opportunities awaiting them just up the road.
Students in Mrs. Huitt's Honors Biology Class completed a poster project focused on the structure and function of the cell membrane and the mechanisms of cellular transport. The purpose of this assignment was to reinforce students’ understanding of how substances move into and out of cells and how the cell membrane maintains homeostasis.
Each student created a detailed and visually organized poster that included a diagram of the cell membrane based on the fluid mosaic model. Through this project, students demonstrated their understanding of the relationship between cell membrane structure and function and gained a deeper appreciation for the role of cellular transport in maintaining life processes.

Today, Livingston Academy students enjoyed a special visit from world-renowned motivational speaker (and professional saxophone player) Reggie Dabbs. Mr. Dabbs shared an inspiring message about treating others with kindness and realizing our potential. Thank you, Mr. Dabbs, for bringing so many smiles to our students!
Livingston Academy will be hosting a HOGEYE TRUNK OR TREAT on Friday, October 30th from 4:30pm - 6:30pm in the student parking lot, before our home football game with DeKalb Co. Area families, and visitors from Dekalb Co, are encouraged to bring children to do some "trunk or treating" before the game.

Our Geometry students recently put their skills to the test by designing and building scale-model birdhouses and doghouses out of popsicle sticks!
Students used what they’ve learned about length, area, surface area, and volume to create their own plans, determine material needs and costs, and then bring their designs to life. Along the way, they worked together to problem-solve, plan, and build according to their own calculations.
